February 28th

The last day of February, it seems like it took forever to get here.  One of the reasons we have been looking forward to March is, we are heading to Disney World in Florida on the 11th of March.  We are going to meet our nephew Ronnie and his family to help RD celebrate his 21st birthday.  We are looking forward to this because Cyndy's cousin Rose will also be their and we should have a lot of fun.
This morning I got up fixed a dynamite breakfast, at least I though so.  Cyndy was still a little under the weather and she wanted to head back into town to a drug store to get something to help her feel better.  That's a plus for everyone if we get her feeling better because if mom isn't feeling good everyone will no it.  Just kidding she isn't that bad, but I like to give her a bad time.
We got back about noon and she was starting to feel a little bit better so we went out for a short ride to see how they are doing at setting up for this weekends event.  But before we even left we seen this just on the other side of the freeway.
With all the black smoke we were worried it might be a RV fire.
We got closer and seen it was just a bunch of junk and tires that caught fire.
We were glad that it was not an RV, but still this fire did a lot of damage to someones stuff.  Will it is time to head out and see how much the area, or should I say little town in the desert has grown.
The area is starting to fill up with RV's, not to bad yet with it only being Thursday and Friday afternoon is when things start happening.  I hope Saturday to get out here and get some pictures with this place hoping.  We see jeeps all over the place.
Now this is a big boy's toy.  I am hoping that we can get a look at a few more like this.  There are a lot of jeeps coming in with bright shiny paint jobs.  I wonder what they will look like after this weekend of trail riding. Tomorrow we already have people coming in the get ATV's early on Friday so we will be up and at them early.  But one bright thing in just 11 more days we will be on a plane to Disney World!!!!!!

February 27th

This morning we got up and had breakfast, Cyndy is feeling a little bit better.  I had her up and eating before 9:00 AM on her day off.  Trying to get her to eat a little earlier on our days off, maybe that will help her diabetes.  Any way we were on our way to town for our weekly trip, stopping by the bank, going to the post office, then to the other 10 stops before we headed back home.  We got back about 1:00 PM and I asked Cyndy if she wanted to go out for a short ride.  So off we went to check out the area for this weekends event.
We headed out through Truck Haven so that we could look down on the 4X4 camp .  We seen about a dozen or so rigs up here on the bluff picking out their area.
You can see the early birds are getting set up and picking the best spots.
As you can see the tents are up for the vendors and the advance staff have there spot and now waiting for everyone to show up.  When talking to one of them today, they said there should be about 6000 people here this weekend.  This place is going to be a little city by Friday night.

This would be a great spot to set up camp, they have the fire ring and a place to sit.  I just don't know how I would get the trailer here.
Yep, that's the trail I came up here on yesterday, now to get Cyndy to want to go down it.
OK, here we go down, what ever goes up must come down some time.
It didn't feel this steep coming up yesterday, or was it a different trail.  Oh well, we are start down, no turning around now.
Cyndy says I am getting a little close to this wall.  I asked did we touch it?  She said no but I can stick my hand out and touch it.

We made it down to the easy part now!!!!
Anyone looking for a good 6x6 motorhome?
Cyndy got a picture of me playing on the log pile in the 4x4 area.

One down a hole bunch more to do some other day.  Tomorrow we are going to get up and enjoy the day and sun with a little bit of geocaching.  The weather is getting warm and by Friday it is going to be in the mid 80's, just right!!!!!  Tomorrow it is going to be just about 80.  Look out we are going Geocaching tomorrow!!!!!

February 26th

Today we had one of those days, which were just a lay around day.  I got up and fixed breakfast, Cyndy was still in bed and said that she had a sore throat and just wanted to lie around.  So I left to meet the guy that wanted 2 Honda 400 EX, drove the Razor up to the shop.  After they went out I went for a short ride and back to the trailer.

I did a few things around the trailer that I had been putting off.  One thing was changing out the vacuum cleaner bag, hadn’t done it in a long while.  Doing some touch up on the cabinets that need a little bit of touch up.  Cyndy was still under the weather so I went out for another ride.  Wanted to see how much more was set up for the weekend Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari.  They are setting up some tents today, will get some pictures Thursday when we go out again.

Tomorrow is our weekly run into town for the things that I need for a very bad habit I have, EATING!!!!!  The doctor keeps telling we to watch how much I eat, my statement to him is I watch every bite.

February 25th

Yeah, its Monday and our weekend starts now.  We closed up shop at noon today, took Turbo home.  The weather was just to good so out in the Razor we went.  First stop was our favorite Mexican Restaurant Alamo's.  Cyndy & I had one of our favorites taco salad and it was great. The sun was up, no wind a prefect day for a nice ride.
This weekend coming up is the 51st Annual Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari.  We have heard a lot about it and looking forward to it.  They are going to have over 100 vendors here and they expect over 8000 people to show up.  I think it might be a little crowded out here this weekend.  We wanted to take a few pictures of the area where everyone will be camping and stuff going on.  This is all before they start setting up.
The area from where those trees are to the left should be wall to wall campers.  We are going to try and get back to these areas and get some more pictures as the weekend starts.
This is some of the area that the trail rides will start at.  Now to get off of this hill, I guess we will just go straight ahead.

Not a bad trail down, coming up hear Cyndy was a little worried.
We need to get up to the top of that hill to get some pictures of the 4 x 4 camp area.
This looks like a good place to go up, hang on Cyndy!!!!
OK, this wasn't the right trail, down we go, hang on Cyndy!!!
This looks like the spot I was trying to get to.
This is were everything is going to be happening this weekend.  They are going to have a big fireworks display Saturday night and I hear it will be good.  The area over by the trucks is were all the vendors will be set up at.
This sign say everything about what is going on this weekend, and it has to do with family!!!!
This is looking up the wall.
Yep that is almost straight up and people do climb it, I hope to see a couple of them playing on it this weekend.  Cyndy didn't want we going up it!!!
They call this a 1000 dollar hill climb, I think I will just watch.
We had a great day just driving around and enjoying our self.  Its fun just to drive through the desert.  Tomorrow we have to meet a couple of people that want to rent some Quads & a Razor, while they are out we will do some geocaching.  More picture tomorrow and the weather is great in the high 70's.

February 23rd

We have been very busy the last couple of days, I have been waiting to post about our trip on the 21st to Julian, CA, but time is really been flying by. As you know we were going to Julian for a get together with Bob & Sue. Here goes with what happened.
We got up Thursday morning had a great breakfast, I think it was waffles, the weather was great, around 70 degrees.  So we left about 9:30 AM and headed towards Julian.  Now mind you it is 70 degrees here in the desert, I had forgotten it had snowed above 2500 feet.  Should I also tell you we took no coats with us.
This is the point when I new we would need coats but, did we have any? Nope!!!
We were at about 2500 feet and running into snow on the road,  Cyndy still didn't say anything about no coats yet.
OK, now this is to much snow on the ground for this person, but we have a little bit farther to go and we will be in Julian.
We made it to Julian and snow in the middle of the street.  We found Bob & Sue, walked around to all the shops then had a great lunch with some great friends.  We had a great visit and look forward to see them in the future.
We are having a pretty good weekend and looking forward to Monday and our days off.  We get to play in the desert and the weather is suppost to be great this next week.

February 20th

This morning about 2:00AM I heard the pitter patter of rain drops on our rig, glad I had everything covered up outside. Went back to sleep, the rain has a way of doing that. It just kind of scares you a little when you haven't heard it in a while. Anyway woke up this morning and the ground was dry, but you could see on the windows of the truck that it had rained just a little bit with the big dust droplets.

Today I had a few things to do around the coach, like dump the black water, still can't get Cyndy to take over that chore. Then it was off to the shop to put on the rock guards for the rear ARMS for the Razor. I got to the shop and started looking at them and low and behold they were the wrong ones. Called our dealer and he said sorry and would be sending the correct ones out this week, and I will send the other one back. After I get these on we will have the whole undercarriage covered on the Razor.  . I should tell you that the sun is out but it is damn cold out also.  I need a jacket this morning running the Razor up to the shop.

We need to run into town for our weekly grocery shopping and picking up the little things we need.  It was another nice drive, and we didn’t spend too much money either.  So after all that it is a quiet night here at the home front.  Tomorrow we are going to head over to Julian to meet up with our friends Bob & Sue.  Cyndy will like looking through all the little shops, me I will be looking for a good place to eat lunch, my number one hobby!!!!

February 19th

What a great weekend we had, being President Day weekend we were busy in the shop all 4 days.  It made the time go buy real fast and before we new it it was our weekend off.  The only problem is the weather is starting to change so I don't think we will be going out in the Razor this weekend.
Today we got up and kind of late for me, but not Cyndy (9:00 AM).  I think I might try that again tomorrow, sleeping in tell 9:00, I felt a lot better.  We got a few things done around here then it was time to find something to do.  I asked Cyndy if she wanted to go into town for the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival?  We had talked about it last week so off we went to see what a California fair is like. Believe they are all the same after the first five minutes I though I was at the Puyallup Spring Fair, but much warmer.
You know its warm when they have camel rides here.
I think these guy were on strike, because they had management up and working with one person on a camel.  We walked around and they had all kinds of rides for kids to go on.  But we wanted to see some of the exhibits, so off we went looking for the barns they would be in.
We did find a entertainer doing his thing to make the crowd laugh.  He was good and showed a lot of different juggling acts.
Now this is a chest set, I think my grand son Mikeal would like to play this board game.  Whae we were home a christmas we played a few games of chest, but this one would be more fun I think.
This caught my eye because Dennis like train layout and I kind of think they are pretty cool looking when done like these are.  Dennis train sets are all n-scale, where these were ho scale.

I really like this with the rain showers they had set up on this part of the track.  We looked at some art work and also walked through the vendors building which try and sell you everything you don't need.  At least I think so, Cyndy may have a different idea then me though.
What is a fair without and Elvis sighting.  This guy was really pretty good and we listen to him for a few songs before it was time for us to leave.  We had a great day but the weather is starting to cool off fast and it was time to head back home.  There is something else we seen at the fair that Cyndy though was really a neat say, about LIFE!!!!!
As I finish this post tonight it is really windy and what we call 1 inch rain drops, that means a rain drop about 1 inch apart.!!!!

February 14th

Happy Valentine’s Day

Cyndy & I just want to say may everyone have as good of a day as we did. We did nothing today but just hang out around the rig.  I let Cyndy sleep in for the second day in a row.  There must be something wrong with me, letting her sleep in two days in a row. It was fun just doing nothing for a change.

I did a couple of things, like cover the Razor back up with its cover.  Help Cyndy hang a couple of the pictures from the family pictures we did back at Christmas.  We fixed a great dinner of Steak, baked Potato, Asparagus, and a salad.  One thing about being down here were it is warm we get a lot of fresh vegetables and the strawberries are to die for. It was something my bride wanted for dinner and I thought it was pretty good idea also!!!!

So with all that said, it was a nice lazy day, I hope everyone out there had a great day also.  Also, I hope everyone has a great Presidents weekend; we will be busy renting ATV’s and Razors.  We have gotten a lot of reservations for this weekend, so I am guessing there will be a lot of people here this weekend.

February 12th

Days off are always great, I let Cyndy sleep in this morning.  So I got up and let Turbo out then went to the house and let the other three dogs out for their morning run.  Then it was back into the coach for a big breakfast.  After breakfast I head back out to take the three dogs in the house for their morning breakfast.  All right got them feed now the rabbit, he does like me for some reason, but today I took him an apple and he may of changed his mind.
OK, before I let the dogs back out I wanted to get the Razor out from behind the fence.  We are going to go out Geocaching today, but first I have to wait for Cyndy to get up.  I didn't make to much noise and Cyndy finally came down, for breakfast.  I went out and found some geocahes for today's run in the desert.
We left about 10:30 and was off and running, I had 21 caches to find today.  Our first stop was up a hill.
As I was walking up to the first cache, which was up this steep hill, I seen this neat looking rock.
Hi Cyndy, yep it was a little to steep for us to drive up here.
We had a great drive today with some good hill climbs.  Cyndy is getting better about going up and coming down hills now.

Another cache just up to the top of this hill, but no trail so we will make our own.  We got to the top and low and behold there was a trail right up to the cache.  We like the hard way up better.

Now this is a cache, a mail box out in no where.  This has to be one of our favorites for today.

This cache can hold a lot of neat stuff, we had fun digging through everything.  We only have a few more to go and we will have found all 21 of the caches.
I yelled a Cyndy that I found a chicken that was dead, no not really just a plastic chicken with a cache in its month.  We had a great day today and look forward to more like this.  Tomorrow is our day in town, so no geocaching tomorrow.  Cyndy has to get her nails done and Turbo has his monthly nail cut and bath done.
