October 28th

We are on our own now.  It was great doing the West Coast America Tour, and we had fun with all the guest.  They were a great bunch of people, but it is nice to have some time for your self.  We got to Salton Sea here at the Rivera District.  We are staying next to our friends place.
Tonight when the sun was setting I got a couple of nice pictures of the color in the clouds.
Tonight Steve & Laverne showed up here and we fixed them dinner after there long day getting here.  It was nice getting caught up on what we have both been up to.  Tomorrow we are heading out for some riding.  I drove Laverne's new 1000 Turbo RZR, it is way to fast for me.  I like our 800 and it will do just fine.
To let you know what we have been up to the last few days after the tour was over.  Yesterday we went and had new brake pads, rotors and calipers for the front end of the truck.  Also had wheel bearings replaced.  It was just over 90,000 miles since I last replaced the pads, so it was time.  Got love the BD exhaust brake for saving pad going down long hills.  We also had the oil changes too.  Even got the truck washed.  So the truck is up to snuff again and ready to go.
Today took Cyndy in for a pedicure and she loved it.  If mom isn't happy no one is, and I like to keep here happy.  Got the back of the trailer set up for her to do a little sewing when she is ready.  I know she has a couple of blankets to finish for friends that their daughters are having babies.  I have got the last trip paperwork all done so now it is time to play.  So tomorrow we or I had out into the desert to see how the RZR is running.

October 26

Today was the last day of our 42 Day West Coast America Tour.  We finished up here with a few day of touring LA.  We took a few pictures so here goes with the last two days, starting with Hollywood Highlight Tour, Grauman's Theater & Walk of Stars, Kodak Theater, La Brea Tar Pits & Page Museum & Rodeo Dr.

Van Johnson couldn't believe he had a cement hand print and foot print in the Grumman's Chinese Theater.

We did get to walk up the red carpet area at Kodak Theater with out the red carpet.

Cyndy even found Minnie & Micky walking around the walk through the stars.

Cyndy has here name on the walk of stars,

We got to see how the rich live, I still like the way we live its more mobile.

The last day of tours we went through Exquisite Farewell Brunch Aboard the Queen Mary and Queen Mary Tour, then it was off to Santa Monica & Long Beach & Venice Beach. We start of withthe Queen Mary.

I think everyone would agree this was a outstanding meal, the Buffet had everything from breakfast stuff to Prime Rib and oysters on the half shell.
This young lady was doing a great job of playing the harp with beautiful music.
 Tour of the Queen Mary.

We had a great time with these folks, I hope we get to travel with them in the future.  We left the campground today about noon and headed for Salton City to play in the desert for a couple of weeks.  The RZR needs to hit the ground and stretch its legs.  We are hoping to get some Geocaching done also, it has been a while and we have a travel bug that needs to be placed.
We also got the coach washed and boy does it look good.

The guys that did it for us, did a great job and really made it shine, for $80.00 it was well worth it.
We are on our own now so who knows what will be happening.

October 20

Today we headed out on the bus trip to the Hearst Castle, with a stop Elephant Seal Rookery.  In late November and early December the adult male seals, weighing over two tons, arrive at the rookery and threaten, intimidate or, if necessary, fight for dominance over portion of the beach.  The battles can be both dramatic and bloody but seldom cause any life threatening injury.  But today all we seen was a lot of Juvenal males doing a lot of play roles of dominance here on the beach.
You can tell these are not the big boys, but they are practicing for when they get their chance.
A lot of them just enjoying the warm sand!!!

I think I need more sand on my back!!!
Our next stop was  Hearst Castle.
What a castle, this was taken from down by highway 1.

Our first stop was the visitor center for information, tickets, something to eat, and then off to the I MAX Theater to watch a movie on the building of this place.
After the movie, we head out for our tour of the castle main rooms,

Here are a couple of pictures of the main rooms in the house, this happens to be the dinning room.

This was the smoking room and game room after the dinner was served.

 Indoor pool.
This is looking doen to the beach from the house.
We had a great day and it is hard to beleive that we are getting close to the end of this trip, just 6 days left.  It is going way to fast, don't want to see these people go.
