Lazy Sunday

We have been doing little of nothing this last week, wait a minute, we were busy as hell.  That's right, we have been doing a lot this last week.  I had 3 doctor appointments, 3 different days, and Cyndy had 2 appointments on the other two days.  So yes we were just a little busy this last week.  I checked out OK, for the physical and then I had a Standard Exercise Stress Test to make sure the ticker was doing OK.  Didn't do good on the first test so I had to go back for another one the next day and called a Imaging Stress Test and this time everything was working good. Now I can go in and get my Belly Button Hernia taken care of next Tuesday. Cyndy is going for her shoulder therapy, and it is getting better, something about a small rotary cup tear.  Anyway we are working to make us a little healthier before heading to Alaska in less than 60 days.
I also have been helping our nephew get his shop wired.  The first inspection of the rough in was not good.  We got everything fixed and now next week we should get him signing off on the electrical permit. That will make both of us happy because I leave in two to three weeks and will not be back tell next winter, so I want to have this project done before I leave.
Today was a real LAZY DAY, it has been raining off and on all day long with some hail in between the rain storms that came through.  We did have a few times when the sun came out and that is when the boy's and I went out for our walks.  So far that has only happened 3 times and I don't know if we will get out again today, it is 8:05 PM and raining again.
Cyndy has been making some of my favorite chocolate chip cookies today and boy were they good with that tall glass of milk.  She also got her new Kindle Fire today and has been busy learning that.  Myself I have been busy working on going through the Mile Post for Alaska and matching up the pages in this book to our road log so that the guest can find the pages a lot faster.

There are over 700 pages and it explains all the roads up to Alaska, around Alaska and back down to the lower 48.  If everything goes good I should have it ready for Cyndy to review before I print it for the guest, I hate to have errors in something and have to ask them to fix it.  Anyway I have just under 60 days to finish this and it should be ready.  Here is what I am doing for them.
Denali to Anchorage (Golden Nugget RV Park) Page 421 A240.0 going backwards to Page 413 A99.3, Page 407 A98.8 going backwards to Page 401 A42.5, Page 397 A42.2 backwards to Page 395 A 0 read about Anchorage from page 364 to 391

Homer to Seward (Stoney Creek RV Park) Page 602 S172.6 going backwards to Page 596 S119, Page 594 S118.2 to Page 592 S97.2, Page 583 S96 to S 95.4, Page 577 S 95.1 to S 37. Page 555 S37.2 to Page 557 S 6.3 read information about Seward Page 560 to 564
If you notice some of the trip is going backwards in the book and some are going the right way, what ever that is.  Any way it takes a little bite to get the route right because some of it is in the pages 400's then to finish the route you have to go to the 600's.  Hope this makes it easier for the guest to use.

Back in Spanaway

We got back to Spanaway on Saturday afternoon.  It was a great drive from Long Beach with know problems.  The water pump worked great this time, wait a minute I just put a new one in.  It had better work good.  On our way down to Long Beach the old water pump stopped working, so after checking it out I replaced it with a new one and it is working great.
Sunday I fixed some of my famous Clam Chowder for the kids here.  I can't believe we ate the hole thing, Janice & Decia had a bowl for lunch today.  It was a good day, watched some NSCAR short track racing.  Really enjoy this type of racing it brings out the great teams and when they make a mistake it can cost them the race.  It can happen in the pits and on the track real fast.
Today was doctor appointments, it seems like all we are doing this week in going to Doctors.  But it is that time of year where we get our annual examines.  So after this week things we hope it gets back to some what normal.  Talk about not being normal, today it was hot.
And for the 18th of April this is way to hot.  It was 5:00 PM when I took a picture of our outside temp.  Tomorrow it is only going to be in the low 80's.  Shorts again tomorrow, maybe everyday from now on.  I am tired of wear jeans so out comes the shorts.
It was a great clear day and I took this picture with my phone, so that is why it is a little out of focuses, still a nice clear day and we are enjoying it.
The moon is out and full and it is 8:00 PM and still light out, got to like this nice weather.  Anyway tomorrow more doctors appointments and we hope another great day.

Lazy Day

You ever have one of those days, that when you wake up and hear it raining and all you want to do is role over and let the rain put you back to sleep.  Well today was one of those days, I finally got up about 9:00 AM, which is late for me.  Took the boys out for a walk and just as we got back it started to rain again, maybe today is a day to stay inside and enjoy the weather.  About noon Cyndy wanted to go up to the craft store here in Long Beach.  As we were coming back to the Park we went for a drive up to Beard Hollow Over look.
Then we went to a drive up the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center.
Just after we walked into the center it started to rain again.  I am so looking forward to the clear days ahead of us.  At least later today it is suppose to clear up. We have been through this just a few years ago so we went into the store and then headed out side to find that the sky's were clearing.
The seas are looking pretty rough with the wind blowing.  I don't think I would want to be coming across the bar today.
This light house Cape Disappointment got a lot of sailors into the Columbia River safely.
Look out here comes the rain again.
The waves are breaking hard against the beach.
We seen a lot of these little birds flying around on the cliff's here.
On our way out of the park we seen these three deer cross the road in front of us.
We really had a great day driving around, then we looked at each other and off we went to MO's for clam chowder,  We haven't been there yet so it was a good time to go.  Not a bad day spent with the love of my life, I couldn't ask for a better day.

Cyndy Finished Computer Bag

Today Cyndy finished the computer bag for our God Daughter.  When she first started this about 4 plus weeks ago, it was going to be an easy project.  I would not ask her to make another on for a long time.  She called this her project from hell!!!  So here goes the project from start to finish.
This is what caused all the problem, every time she would sew a few strips on this bag it started to twist and not lay straight.  So after a few time of taking it apart and re-sewing it she found out the problem.

Here she is squaring up the project
OK, she is happy and the inter pockets are in place, all she has to do is sew them in place.
Sewing the inner pockets in place, she is getting closer to finishing it.
Here is the final bag, below is a look at the inside with the pockets in it and the bottom one is a picture from the side.  Great job Cyndy, I know it was rough but you did it right.  Looks great!!!!

We have been just hiding out here in Long Beach.  I did go Fishing last Sunday, but being late in the season, the Steelhead where not there.
Brian & I are enjoying the day, we are running up the river, just wish we could catch some fish.  I did get one salmon, but that was it.
The guide is a crab fisherman and he gave us a couple of crab when we parted ways, and they are great.
I like to make a sandwich spread, with equal parts of crab, cocktail sauce, and velveta cheese.  I will put it on bread and toast it in the oven until all the cheese is melted.  It is to die for!!!!
Tomorrow we go back over to Seaside, OR for the boy's to get a couple of more shots, and all of their shots are up to date.  Then to stop by Costco and the Cash & Cary to pick up some more stuff for the trip to Alaska.  Other then that we are just vegging out here in Long Beach.

Clam Digging

Finally got everything done around the rig and the clam tides are great, so it is time to do a little bit of digging.  Went out yesterday with Brian and it was a great dig.  We were out for about 15 minutes and back at the truck heading back to the house.  They were OK for size, but boy were they showing good.  It took me longer to walk down to the surf and back to the truck then it did to dig the limit today.  The size today were a little smaller then yesterdays clams, so I guess I go back up to the north end by Brian & Rita's place, instead of right here in Long Beach

This is what It looked like when I first got down to the beach this morning.
Sorry for the out of focus picture but when I got back to the truck this was the traffic that was heading off of the beach.

I took this picture after I had finished digging my limit, a lot of people down here and it was still an hour before low tide.

This is the size of today's clams, they are OK, but back when I was a kid these were small and we were able to dig 36 clams for a limit.  So now to get to work and clean then and then we have some great clams for chowder and frying.
Tomorrow I am planning a fishing trip with Brian.  We are going Steal Head fishing on the Quinault River.  Brian has found a great guide and from looking at his web site today he did pretty good.  Hope to have some great pictures for tomorrow or the next day.  It will be a long day, we are leaving here at 3:00 AM.
Now tol Cyndy's project that has been giving her fits.  She is gaining on it finally.
Here she is getting ready to add the pockets to it.
Sewing the pockets in place.
Here the pockets are getting the final touches with buttons.
Looking good dear, but I don't know how this is going to be a computer bag when it is done.  More to come in the near future.

Exploring Warrenton, OR

Now you ask me why are we exploring Warrenton, OR?  We have been asked by Adventure Caravans to check on a couple of campgrounds here in the area for the start of the West Coast Tour.  So our first stop was a Kamp West Kampground,
The enters was a nice set up, and the people are great here, but the sites --

are small and the big rigs may have a little bit of problem getting into these sites.  They only have 30 AMP also.  So now on to the other campground we were here to check out.
The next one was a KOA , the people here were real helpful also, and showed us the park.
These site are all pull through and
they have both 50 & 30 AMP through out the park, not all sites have 50 AMP.  Their are plenty for the rigs that really need 50 AMP.  So this part of the job is over now to find out some information about what to do in the area.
Our first stop was at the
Columbia River Maritime Museum.  We have been through this one a few times and they have a lot of the information about the great job that the Coast Guard does here at the mouth of the Columbia River.  We know of a few other places to go but first we need to stop off at the
Visitor Center here in Astoria to pick up some information and get a feel for where we will look next.  It was getting late in the day, so we will be back over the Astoria Bridge in a few days and do some more scouting of the area.
For some of you that will be visiting this area this summer stop and take a look at a bridge that is celebrating 50 years this year. It is hard to believe it is that old, I remember when it still had the toll's still on the bridge in the early 80's.  As you can see the clouds are heading inland and the sun will be coming back in the next few days.  Got to like the sun at the beach.
Oh, I almost forgot, Cyndy is getting closer to finishing the big bag for our God-Daughter.
She has one more row to go and then to trim it up and added the handles and a couple of other things and this wonderful project or should I say her most trying project done.

Long Beach and great Weather

We have been having some great weather here in Long Beach, WA.  On our way down here got a picture of Willapa Bay.
As you can see we had great weather and the tide is out while we were heading down here to Long Beach.  The last 3 days have been great.  We have spent a lot of time with Brian & Rita the last three days.  Cyndy & Rita have been sewing which I here they both like to do, but some times we here some choice words, but they keep right on going.  Brian & I have been doing a little bit of everything, from running errors for the girls and us.  Tomorrow we are going to hang out here and give them a break and us a break, plus I want to watch the race tomorrow morning. It starts at 10:00.
Tonight on our way back to the coach we spotted a couple of deer.
We see at least one every time we go out to Brian & Rita's or on our way back to the coach.  There were three of them, but I only got two of them in the picture.
When we went into Long Beach on our way back I drove out to the beach and took a picture to show you how clear it is.
If you look real close you can see a few people down clam digging, it is only a .5 tide tonight.  Next week it get to a -1.2 low tide on Friday, we will stat digging on Friday and dig through Monday if they keep it opened.

When we were here the first of February, it had rained a lot and the water was building up a lot.  As you can see with the picture below the water is down about a foot but has a little bit farther to go.  We can hope that the rainy period is over for this winter/spring time period so that this area can dry out a little bit more.

Tomorrow watching NASCAR and relaxing.  I do have a small job on the coach this next week, the water pump stopped working so order on off of Amazon and it will be here by Tuesday.  That will be an easy install.
