Historic Eastern Seaboard Day 11

It is hard to believe we are on day 11 already, and we only have 15 days left, where is the time going.  Today we car pooled it to Liberty State Park to the New Jersey Ferry dock.  We were on our way to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Here we are loading the ferry for the Statue of Liberty.
What a view as we approach the Statue.
As we were heading to the dock to unload.
That white tent is security for the Statue, you would of though we were boarding a plan.  Take everything out of your pockets, no water bottles, no backpacks, oh, yah, don't for get the belt.
They had to rebuild the torch, and they put the original here in the lobby of the Pedestal.
This is a mold of the statues face.
This is looking up from the Observation Level in the Pedestal.
Looking up into the statue from the Observation Level at the stairs going up to the crown.
If you look real close you can see two of our guest waving at us.
One more thing marked off of our bucket list, this was a great visit here at the Statue of Liberty.
After a short boat ride with over 300 people we arrived at Ellis Island Immigration Museum, now I no what it was like as a immigrate came to this new world.  Cyndy and I went to the American Family Immigration History Center looking for relatives that came through here.  The only problem we couldn't find anybody.  It had to do with the way we spell their names I think.
Now we no why we didn't find them, we are at the American Immigrant Wall of Honor.  The next few pictures of the wall are what we found of Cyndy's relatives.

This is some of the wall, it goes on forever.
Looking from Ellis Island towards New York City.
And this storm moved over the city and really dumped a lot of rain in a short time.  Back to the RV and relax before the start of one more long day in New York City.

Historic Eastern Seaboard day 10

What a day, we were out of here at 10:00 AM, so we got to sleep in just a little.  We put coffee out for the guest and a few came by and had a cup.  We loaded the bus and headed to Long Island to see the sights.  We had a real great guide today and she made it a lot of fun.
Our first stop was the south end of Central Park.  It is hard to believe that over 100 years ago there was no trees here and some spots of this park was a swamp and a place for the homeless to hide.  But now this park is one of the safest in the country and they have turned it into a beautiful park with man made lakes and ball fields for the kids and a place to get away from the fast pass of New York.
This looks like it could be someplace out in the country, then you look over your shoulder.
Looking across the park you see the New York City sky line.
Can you remember the movie that was filmed in this building?  Has to do with Dinosaur coming to life.  Maybe it was Ben Stellar.
Apple had a big store downtown were you can go and try any of there electronics on display.
We got to go into Trump Tower and look around.
No we didn't get to go up to Trumps penthouse, but we did get to use the public restrooms.  That was a relief.
Nice watch their Mr. Trump.
Our next stop was Grand Central Terminal to look around and have lunch.
There is all kinds of sayings all over this place.
They have really did a lot to restore this building.
We stopped at Madison Square Park to take some pictures of buildings in the area.
Empire state building.
These little guys are running all over in these parks.
They call this the Iron Building, it was built on a triangular peace of land, and the building looks like a iron!!!  Every inch of land is used, there is no alley's here in New York.
We even when by Wall Street and we did see the people that are protesting.
Tomorrow we are going to Ellis Island and on to
then onto the Statue of Liberty.
Our last stop was the World Trade Center, it is amazing how much they have done in ten years.
If you look close, the wall with everyone's name on it that lost their life when the Trade Center was distroyed.
There are a lot of these water towers on building throughout the city.

Historic Eastern Seaboard Day 9

What a great DAY!!!!  We left the KOA in Newburgh, NY for a short drive (84 miles) to Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey City, NJ.  We can look right across the harbor and see the Statue of Liberty, along with the New York sky line. Here is the map of our last drive.
I was happy to get here so that when we went for our bus ride today for the carage ride in Central Park I could look around and really take in the sites.  Cyndy says when we are driving, I am to keep my eyes on the road not site seeing.  Anyway we are on our way to Central Park for our carage ride.
This is just amazing one big concert city.
This Pizzerias was just neat between the big buildings.
This city doesn't slow down.
What do you think about living down town New York.
Here we are loading into carriages for our trip trough Central Park.

We believe in having fun.

We even like taking pictures of each other.
Looking out over Central Parks sky line.
We seen some really neat building while traveling through the park.

During the winter this area is set for Ice Skating here in the park.
There is vendors all over the park, selling every kind of food you could want.
Off they go back to the stables, where ever it is.
The Trump Hotel and were apprentice is filmed.
And it goes up forever.
After or carriage ride we got something to eat and then head to the theater for Jersey Boys.
This musical was the greatest, we both enjoyed it greatly.  It would be great to be able to see a couple of other musicals while we are here.  Maybe next time we are here we will see more.
After the musical we got back on the bus and our bus driver took us right down town to Time Square, here are just a couple of pictures that turned out.

Even at 10:00 Pm there are hundreds of people all over the place down here.  Tomorrow we get to exploring more of down town New York.
