May 6th

We did it, and I don't really want to drive more than 400 miles a day in a while.  We did 375 today and it was a really pretty good drive.  We left the Bar at about 8:00 AM and stopped at Pilot for fuel about 35 miles down the road.  I will say having that RV Card for Pilot has got to be a great deal, we saved 8 cents a gallon on fuel and that starts to added up when you stop twice in a day and pump over 50 gallons.  I have thought of adding another tank, but that is all I have done for now is think about it.  The only time that it would be nice is when we head up to Alaska.
Again our day started pretty good, weather was good and we had no traffic problems.
Now Cyndy was trying to get some pictures of snow in the mountains.  I reminded her that we are at 4800 feet so we are up in the mountains now.
We made it to the Old West RV Park at about 4:30 and guess what it was doing?
Yep it is raining, and guess what we get to set up in the rain.  We are pretty good at it and ten minutes after getting parked I was inside and getting warmed up.  The park owner said that there is a chance of snow tomorrow.  I thought this was May not March.  I hope we don't wake up to snow but if we do I have an extra day planned into our trip.  So we can just sit and wait for the weather to get better.

May 5th Montana we made it

Today we went just a few more miles than yesterday, we added just about another 100 miles for about 275 miles.  We had a real good day, the weather was great.
We had a lot of high clouds but no rain.  Going across the Idaho panhandle is a short drive but a lot of climbing.  The truck is really doing great with the new gears that I put in it last summer.
I hope the rest of the drive to South Dakota is just like today.  It makes it so easy to drive when the wind is not blowing against you and no rain.  We did have a little tail wind today.
Turbo even enjoys the view going down the road.  He had a little problem once today when they were working on the road and we had to drive over those wake up strips they have along side the road.
He felt better with his little friend riding next to him.
We made it to the Lincoln 50,000 Silver Dollar Bar.  They have a very small RV park here that offers free power.  We were able to hook up and enjoy the life with electricity , we are able to boon dock but why do it when you have free electricity.  We did go over to the restaurant for dinner and it was really good and very reasonable.  We have been building up to this day tomorrow, we are going to plan on driving almost 400 miles.  We want to make it to a passport campground. I can member a couple of times doing over 500 and not blinking an eye, but I like these short drives a lot better!!!!

May 4th On the Road again

It is great to hit the road again with the one that I Love for ever.  We have been married for 40 years, some days are are a little bumpy but most are out of this world.  I would not trade her for anyone.  It is amazing how after this many years we are both still alive, no just kidding, she still has that little spark in her eye and I Love her.
We left this morning from our site in Spanaway about 9:00 AM.
We had a really good trip, weather was a little wet when we first left, but after we got close to the pass the weather got better.  We are on our way to Rapid City, South Dakota for a Adventure Caravans 11 Day Rally.  We are hopping to arrive there by the 7th or 8th.  We are looking forward to all of our friends that will be their.
One of the things that have come up missing while going over the pass that has come up missing is the snow shed just over the pass on the East side.  They are working widening I-90 which should keep traffic moving better over the pass.

Yep snow shed is gone!!!
Turbo is wondering what all the big deal with the snow shed being gone.  He likes to keep an eye on where we are going and lets me know when I hit the turtles marking the lanes.
We arrived here at Crescent Bar TTN at about  1:00 PM, yep we could of went a little farther but for the first day this was a good start on our trip.
We have a nice site and have never been to this park before, I think we might come back here and just sit for a couple of weeks. We have a great view of the river.  As you can see the Colombia River is a little low.
There is a lot of beach access right now, but when they fix the dam up river it should start to rise a lot more.  Tomorrow we are hopping to make it to the 50,000 Silver Dollar Bar, they have free parking there and that will be our boon dock stay on this trip.  If we get there early we might even get electric.  They have a few sites.  Looking forward to keeping everyone informed about what we are doing and going.

Spring Break ended way to FAST!!!

We had a great spring break playing on the Oregon coast.  We started out Saturday Morning March 29th heading to Florence, OR.  After a hard drive through some really bad down pours we made it to Florence, Or, we stayed at Honeyman State Park.  During October through the first of May you can ride out of the park with our ATV's.  We had some really good weather in between the rain showers but most of the time it was good weather.
Here we are out at the beach in Florence.  I hope they know their way back.
As you can see we all pose very well while Cyndy is taking pictures.
I took our grandson out for a ride one day and mom was taking pictures.  He said I was getting a little crazy today.
Turbo even got out for a few rides.  Like his doggles!!!  He is getting better about wearing them now.
We are in Coos Bay here with the hole bunch of us, having fun where we spent last summer working.

At night I fires up the old but new fire pit.  Turbo and mom really like the heat from it.  We had a great week of riding and now we are back in Tacoma.  We will be leaving her sometime around the 3, 4, or 5 of May for The Mega Rally in Rapid City, SD.  Don't know which way we are going, but will cross that bridge when I get to it.
Now to do a little complaining about this blog site that we have been using for over 4 years now.  It has been working really good and I have always have positive things to say tell this last week when I went to added pictures to the post.  They just would not go into the post.  SO after a little research, I found that I had to have "Google Chrome" as my internet browser.  I have bee a long time "Internet Explore" browser.  Has anyone else had problems with this or do you know of a better blog site to use?  Until I find something different I will work with this you know what for a while.

March 15th

Where did February  go?  It just seem like yesterday was the first of February and now it is March already. February was cold around here we had a few snow days but not to bad, it came then was gone the next day.  The mountains around here are finally getting the snow they need so badly.  The ski resorts are real happy.   Now the month of March really came in like a lion around here.  We have already had over 9 inches of rain in the last two weeks and still have a few more days of rain before it starts to slow down.  All the rivers around here are near flood stage but staying in there banks some what.  All I know is I am glad we are not back east, they have really had a bad winter!!!!
Cyndy and I are doing pretty good.  She had surgery on her left had to fix a tendon, still bothering her a little but not hurting like before.  A couple of more weeks and she should be doing good.  Myself I have been driving the short bus for the school district the last couple of months.  We are looking forward to getting out on the road this summer and seeing what we can get into again.
The first of April we are going to Florence Or. for 4 days then on down to Coos Bay for the rest of the week playing in the sand.  Need to get the RZR ready to go.  Other than that the Olsen's are doing good hope everyone else is doing great.

January 3rd

Happy New Year everyone!!!
Cyndy & I are doing great, we have started off the new year with a trip to Seaside, OR.  We got here and the weather has been great.  Our friends Brian & Rita showed up the day before New Years Eve.
Cyndy & Rita have been friends since 5th grade.  It is hard sometimes for me to understand these two, they are almost like sisters.  Anyway today they are heading back home, he will be retiring this May and is looking forward to it.  They are planning on getting a place down  here in Longbeach area.  They both like this area and I hope they both have a good life after retiring.  We will look forward to seeing them when ever we are in this area.
It got a little windy yesterday but we did make it out to the beach to get some pictures.  After they leave this morning Cyndy and I are going to rest and relax.  Isn't that something nice to do.  We have both enjoyed this little trip here to the beach.  I think this winter we will be doing this a little bit more.  We have a little bit of shopping to do later before we head back to Washington tomorrow.
