September 17th

This morning we hooked up and everyone headed out towards Newport, if we went straight there we would be there in just over 60 miles.  Nope we are doing a side trip to the Spruce Goose Museum in route to Newport.  It is located just out side of McMinnville.  It is called the Evergreen Aviation Museum and right across the street is the Evergreen Space Museum.

This is the entrants to where the Spruce Goose is, we as in Cyndy & I last seen this when we were in LA at the Queen Mary.  They moved the Spruce Goose here then built the building around it.  Here are a few pictures inside.

There are a lot of planes here, I just enjoyed looking at all of them.
We walked across to the Space Museum.

I could spend a hole day here just looking through everything but as time goes we only had about 3 hours and it went by real fast.  Here are a few pictures that we took inside of the Space Museum.

We finally made it to Newport Marina and RV Park, it is real nice.  Tomorrow we will be exploring  the sites in this area.

August 16th

Lets get you up to date on our West Coast Tour.  Yesterday we had a Lunch for our guest.

 As you can see Cherrill & Cyndy are busy getting lunch ready.  We had Tacos and Taco Soup, it was great and everyone enjoyed the meal.  We also serviced them Ice Cream with a sopaeas (SP some kind of Mexican Desert).

 We have a great group of people.

Its not very often we catch Jeff not talking, but give him some good food and he enjoys his meal.
We finished the day with our orientation and a travel briefing.  Now we have them all ready for our day of touring Tillamook and traveling to Newport.
Today we headed out to The Air Museum in Tillamook.

 We are waiting inside for our tour to start.

 Here everyone is enjoying listening to our guide about how this building came about and what it was used for.  If you ever get a chance to stop at the Air Museum in Tillamook please do the Blimp Hanger has a lot of history in it.  Here are a couple of pictures of the many planes that are here.

Our next stop is the,

Tillamook Cheese factory.  This is another one of my favorite stops here, with the cheese bar that we get to sample a few of there choice cheese's.

If you are good you can make it through at least two times.

After viewing the factory it was time for some good old Tillamook Ice Cream, my favorite.  We had a great time here, now it is time to head to the Pioneer Museum here in Downtown Tillamook.  We have never been here so this is new for us.

 This place is amazing and and has a lot to show for a small building, here are just a couple of pictures that I took.

If you have got a couple of hours please make it a point to stop by this amazing Museum, there is a lot from all kinds of animals, history of this area, logging , and more.  It was a good day and looking forward to the next 40 days left it should be fun.

August 14th

Tomorrow is the start of our 42 Day West Coast Tour, we have 17 of the 19 rigs here.  Wait a minute lets back up to yesterday.  We had a social last night and it was great.  We have a great bunch of guest here with us.  We have them from as far away as Florida, New York, Wisconsin, Alabama and a lot of other states between here and the East Coast.  There are even a couple from Washington and Oregon.  Here is a few pictures of our guest from last nights social.

We have a great bunch of good cooks also, some of the food that was brought out was really good.
Today we had 3 more come in and we have got everyone sticker and collected all the forms that we need.  Tonight we went out for a LEO and a great time. Stu & Sue came by and said hello today, it was nice to see them and hope to see them this winter when we are south. Tomorrow we start with a lunch at noon and the orientation shortly to follow.  It is hard to believe we starting another great trip, watch for up coming pictures of a great time heading the West Coast.

September 12th

We have made the trip from Seaside to south of Tillamook with no problems.  The park that we are at is not the best for phone service.  We are about 6 miles from town and the service is really bad.  The cable is good so that makes up for all the trees here, but about 5:00 in the morning the dew that has collected on the trees during the night starts dropping and it is loud when it hits the roof.
We are getting ready to start the 42-Day West Coast America trip, we had 3 rigs show up today and are going to get 5 more in today.  I have been busy getting them inspected for the trip and putting on Adventure Caravan Stickers.  We are tailgunning this trip and our Wagonmasters are Jim & Cherrill Roberts.  They are real good people and look forward to doing this trip with them.  I am hopping to have more time on this trip to post a lot of pictures of our trip down the coast.  We have 23 rigs on this trip so a lot of fun people.  The trip starts on the 15th with orientation and dinner.  The people that have showed up already are really looking forward to this trip getting underway.  More to come as we get started.

September 8th

The last two days have just flew by.  Yesterday morning we head over to Ocean Park one more time before we head south, to visit with Brian & Rita.  Cyndy helped Rita with her baby blanket and got her started on her second one.  Brian and I did some running but nothing much.  The dogs were playing and got a couple of pictures of Gabby and Spike playing.

By the sound of these two you would have thought they were going to tear each other apart.  It was fun watching them, after about 10 minutes they both laid down and sleep for about a half and then started all over again.

Here Cyndy & Rita are busy doing something but I am not going to question it.  I think it had something to do with sewing!!!!  When we got back to Seaside we went out to dinner one more time with Terry & Nick before they head over the bridge back to Longbeach.
Today I was up early and took both Turbo & Spike to the groomers for nails and shampooing, had to have them there by 8:00 AM.  While they were there I went to Speed Glass to get our windshield replaced.   He did a real good job but the dam bugs have made a mess of our new windshield.  So tomorrow I will be out cleaning it before we go any where.
We met Jeff & Ethel for lunch as they were pacing through the area.  It was nice to talk with them and looking forward to having them on our West Coast Trip, they are a lot of fun.  After that it was time to top of the truck (fuel) and finish up with the final running around we needed to do before heading out on Thursday for the West Coast Tour. We have a long drive from here just over 50 miles, I hope I don't have to stop and fuel up on the way there.
Tonight we went to our favorite Pizza place here in Seaside, Angelina's is right on 101 and a small place but great food.  Tomorrow we start getting things but away for another move day.  Hope to post when we get south of Tillamook, OR

September 6th

The last few days we have been spending time over at Brian & Rita's place in Ocean Park, WA.  It was great to see them and spend some good time together.  Cyndy & Rita have been busy making baby blankets.  I think Rita has learned more about taking stitches out then putting them in.  Any way the two of them have been doing a real good job at finishing at least one a piece by tomorrow.  Brian and I have been staying out of there way and taking care of man things, at least that is what we told them.  Then one night I fixed dinner and Saturday night Brian fixed dinner.  I thing we both did a great job.  The girls said it was good also, or maybe they were just hungry.
On our way home Friday night just before we started across the Astoria Bridge we got some great pictures of the sun set.

Today we had Nick and Terry over for dinner.

We started off with some Sockeye Salmon, nope bad looking fish, and it tasted great.

Miss Terry brought over some great rolls and also a loaf of her favorite bread, she knows how to fix some great bread.  We had a great dinner and some great time again with Nick & Terry.  This is the first time in a long time that we got to just sit around and shoot the bull, it was fun and we look forward to doing it again when our paths cross.

Nick had a good time tormenting Spike, I don't know who had more fun Nick or Spike.

I think Nick got the bad end of the deal though.  Turbo was smart he just laid around and watched Nick having fun with Spike.  The time went by way to fast.
Tomorrow we are off to Ocean Park one more time before we head off on our next adventure down the West Coast.

September 3rd

Yesterday was kind of a sad day for us, our Grandson Jared head home with his dad.  We really enjoyed our time with him.  He does like the pool and is getting really good at swimming.  We also did a little bit of geocaching which both Cyndy & I enjoy doing.  It is neat to look for the geocaches because it takes you through some really great areas.  Jared was a lot of fun to have with us and we look forward to our other grand kids getting a little bit older and taking them with us on outing in the years to come.  It is nice when they are at the age of knowing what is right and wrong.
Last night we went out to dinner with some long time friends Terry & Nick.  We seem to cross paths about once or twice a year and just love Nick's humor.  Terry looks great and Nick is Nick.  Cyndy had asked them about a good Chinese Restaurant place here in Seaside. So we head out to the Great Wall in Gearhart.  I will say the food was great, but the company that we had was the best.  It is always fun talking with Terry & Nick about what they are up to and how things are going.  They both look great and are doing a great things, like turning the Gypsy Journal to all digital.  I like it digital because it is easy to store and a great source of information when we are traveling to those area that they write about.  I hope we can get together one more time before we take off to our next trip.
Today I have a few things to get done, and we have a little bit of running around before the football game tonight.  I will miss one thing again this winter when we are south and that is watching the SEAHAWK'S. Ok it is time to get going or nothing will get done today!!!
