September 28

We are currently in Crescent City, CA, we arrived here yesterday after a long drive of just over 50 miles.  We have had great weather, along the coast there was some fog.  Last night was neat with the full moon having a total lunar eclipse.  I tried to take a few pictures but failed to get any that turned out.
Today we were out touring the area of Crescent City, CA, our first stop was Ocean World.
This was a great Aquarium, and it was almost as good as Sea World.
I tried to get some what of a group photo but, failed at this too, in the future we will have to work on this a little bit better.
Here are a few of the wonderful women on this trip.
This was a touchy feely pond with star fish and sea amenities.  It was neat watching them when you touch them

Next we headed down stair to view the sea life under water.
Anchovies which they raise for feed here at the Aquarium.
This is a blow shark, they fill there bodies with air and then when a predictor come near them they bark like a dog.

Here Teresa is touching a blow shark.
SOme of us never grow up and just got to get into the picture.

Then there are some of us that just enjoy the view.
We seen the harbor seals perform for us along with a sea lion.

She jump from the water up to this plat form

She was amazing at the trick she done.
We also went to a all volunteer Marine Mammal Center which rescues sea mammals from the  the area beaches.  They only had two seals there now, but have had a lot of pups that were abandon by there mothers this year.  They think it is because the feed is so far out in the sea.  It has been a pretty good day and looking forward to tomorrow with our trip down 101 and stopping at the Trees of Mystery and lunch on our way at Samoa Cookhouse.  hope to have some great pictures from the Trees of Mystery.

September 26th

We have been doing real good on this trip down the West Coast.  The drive days are great leave at 11:00 AM and be to your next park by 1:00 PM.  It is a real killer drive so much, I can get use to this type of caravan real easy.  Yesterday we drove from from Coos Bay to Gold Bar, OR. It was just over 80 miles or something like that.  We have been having some great weather and it is making this trip so outstanding.
Today we did the Jet Boat Excursion on Roque River, it was with Jerry's Mail Boat trip.  We left at 9:00 from the park for our boarding trip at 9:30.
We split our group between two boats, the water is low so they can not run the big boats up the river at this time.
This is the first bridge we come to while heading up the river, we also drove across this one while on 101.
There were a lot of birds along the river as we were heading up.
We even seen a few turkey vulture's hanging out in the tree waiting for something to float by.
We seen a few Eagles as we went up the river.

THis is the other group just ahead of us.

We had Lunch at Singing Springs Resort and it was a great lunch, all you could eat .

Here we are loading the boat's for the trip back down the river after a great lunch.

On the way down we found a river Ottor playing around.

We had a great day and everyone enjoyed it.
The boats have 3 Chevy big blocks with pumpers on them to get us up and down the river.  It was a great day and we got plenty of sun.
When we got back to the camp ground we need to run up to the store so we loaded up the dogs and headed out.  As we were leaving the park we heard someone yell at us, so we stopped to see who it was. You would never believe it but it was a couple from our Alaska trip, LT & Tobin.
It was great to see the both of these fine Lady's again.  We had a lot of fun while traveling to and back from Alaska.
Tomorrow we head for another long drive day to Crescent City, CA.

September 24th

Yesterday we drove from Florence, OR to North Bend, OR and staying at the Mill Casino RV P;ark.  We have been by here a lot of times but never stayed here.  It is a nice park and a lot of things to do around here.  After our trip review for the next two day a lot of guest went to the Casino for dinner and playing the slots.
This morning just before I put out the coffee this is what I seen out our door.
 What a beautiful sun rise.

On Day 10 we started the morning off with a trip to the Myrtlewood Factory for a tour of there operations and gift shop.
They split the group into two groups and one watched a video while the other went for a tour of the factory.

this is one of there special works a putter made from Myrtle wood.
This is a big belt sander!!!!

Some of there equipment is run by these big wheels and belts.
This guy is making a bowl, every bowl is hand made and each may be just a little different.

Now if I was really into golf, I may just want to get putter like these, But for $152 plus I don't think it will help my game.
Here are a few pictures of the gift shop.

Some one is shopping!!!!
After a couple of hours here we headed off towards the Shore Acres State Park for a lunch break prepared by the staff.  Everyone got a great sack lunch.
Some of them found picnic tables and others went for the view.

This is the view we had while eating lunch.

Some of us were dressed for the cold and others were dressed for the warmer weather.

This rock was just below the surface and created some neat wave action.
Everyone enjoyed the lunch spot and the view.
Our next stop was the Botanic gardens.
If you are here in the December time frame they put on a great light show in this garden.

There are a lot of beautiful flower beds through out these gardens, these are just a few of the flowers i took.
We had one more stop on the Scenic Drive along Cape Arago.
We could hear this guys from 2 miles away, there has to be a thousand of them around here.

This guy must be king of the mountain.

We had a great day the weather was amazing, we could not ask for a better day.  TOmorrow we head towards Gold Beach.
