Day 11 & 12

On Day 11 we had a group head up to Hickman Bridge for a little hike.
They said it was a great hike, everyone that went said they had a good time.  Great job Betty & Jim.
We took the afternoon and went for a ride in Capital Reef after spending the morning getting thing set up for the dinner tonight.  Now that Jim & Betty are back it is our turn to head out and explore.
What does this look like to you?  It is amazing what different things people see in these rock formations.
I wonder how much super glue they used to get this rock to stay their?  This rock is at least 10 foot across.
We headed into Capitol Gorge which is a dirt road.
It is just a old river bed and the sign said; do not enter if strong storms are in area.
I seen a wolf our coyote in this one.

It is amazing what you see around every corner.

How many years did this take to form.

We had a great afternoon exploring Capital Reef, but now it is time to head back and get ready for a cook out for the guest.

After a hard day of exploring everyone enjoied the great hamburgers and all the stuff that goes with it.  I want to thank Jenine for those outstanding Cowboy Bean's.
On Day 12 we moved from Capital Reef to Moab, UT. On our drive their we made a couple of site seeing stops along the way.Our first stop was Wolverton Mill, shortly after the turn of the century, Edwin Thatcher Wolverton, a mining engineer from Maine, came to Utah to look for gold.  For 12 long years he searched for Spanish mines and even files several claims.  Woverton build the mill to process the ore he anticipated mining - and the mill did in fact process some ore but not much.  He abandoned the mill in 1929.

We had a great day of driving all nice road and beautiful site's.  That evening we were served a dutch oven old time dinner.
We started off with soft drinks and then got down to eating a great meal.  But the highlight of  the night was the boat tour and light show.

We are loading the boat here.
What do you see in these pictures.

We had a great guide telling us what are in these pictures.

We had a great day and night, I just wish the night pictures would ofturned out of the stars and light show.
