Day 16 & 17

We left Moab on Day 16 with a bright sunny day.  The road was good and everyone made it to Cortez, CO with no problems.  We talked about what we were doing on Day 17.  In the morning of Day 17 a few of us left early for the Mesa Verde National Park to explore the Balcony House.

We were in for a exploration of some great ruins.

The ladder was the first big challenge to get up to the ruins.

And all of us made it to the top.

I think the next obstetrical had to be the biggest challenge, we had to crawl through a tunnel.  You have to remember these people of the Anasazi were small people.

We all made it out with some twisting and turning and working through the tunnel.

We had a great day exploring the ruins here at Mesa Verde National Park.  Tomorrow we had to the town of Durango, CO.  It will be one of our longest drives of 48 miles.
