Day 4 & 5 of the Grand Circle Tour

Well day 4 was a free day for our guess.  We started the morning out with breakfast in a bag for them.  Then they were off and running in all directions.  Some went shopping, some went hiking back up in Zion, and others checked out other sites around St. George. Then there was those that just took it easy and relaxed a little, but that is what a free day is for.
On Day 5 we started our first move to a new camp ground. It is located in Jacob Lake, AZ, just out side of North Rim of the Grand Canyon.  We had people heading out at three different times, because we are stopping at our first National Monument, Pipe Spring.  As we were heading down the road we went by this really strange rock formation.
Now tell me does this looks like Noah's Ark.

The formations were great today and the drive was great also.  We went from 2800 feet to just over 8000 feet.
Pipe Springs National Monument was amazing.  There is so much history here I do not have the time or room to write about it.  It was a Mormon fort that also was a working farm that supplied a lot of food for St, George.  Here are a few pictures of the area.
 Garden area!!!

In this room,a hole was located in the ceiling.  Boys at the age of 12 to 14 would be stationed up there to watch for incoming guest.  At which time they would yell down to their mom and say people are coming set another plate.
As you can see, you can see forever.
The young lady telling us about this place had a lot of great knowledge.  It was interesting to hear that they made up to 80 lbs of cheese, and I can't remember how much butter.  You have to remember this was more then a farm it was a big ranch also.
After we all made it into the camp ground we had a nice camp fire.
Its nice watching some on else work a little~!~!
And he did a great job getting some good coals for cooking hot dogs &
This was great, you take a roll of Grans refrigerated biscuits and form one around the top half of the stick.  Then you slow cook it over the fire.

You slowly turn them untell there golden brown and pull them off the stick, you have a bun for hot dogs or fill them up with your favorite filling.

As you can see everyone got into the cooking dough.  It was fun and tasted great.  Will have to do this again.  Tomorrow we head to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
