We had a great afternoon exploring these sites. The pictures do not do Bryce justice. The colors are out of this world and the sites are amazing.
This evening we went across the street to the Ebenezer's Bar & Grill to have dinner and watch a great show put on by the Bar*G Wranglers. The sang a lot of old western songs and all had a great time.
On Day 10 we were up and driving towards Capital Reef National Park. The route we took was a scenic by way from Bryce Canyon to Capital Reef. We went over some beautiful road way in sites to see. Some people didn't care for the straight down views we had but all said it was a great drive.
On our way to Capital Reef we stopped at Anasazi State Park. This site was excavated by the University of Utah in 1958 as a part of the Glen Canyon salvage project and developed in 1970 by the Division of Parks and Recreation. Eighty-seven rooms were uncovered. You can inspect the archaeological findings of the village. Most uncovered artifacts are on display at the museum in the Visitor Center. Here are few pictures of the diggings.
After everyone was in we head up to the visitors center of Capital Reef National Park to watch a video of the park. Then we headed up into the Canyon to see some petroglyph near the Gifford Homestead.
Everyone enjoyed this trip up into the canyon. At the Gifford Homestead there are a lot of fruit trees. They have a honor system that you pay for what you pick.
There were a lot of deer around the orchards also helping themselves to the apples also.
Also seen a flock of wild turkey's.
It was a great afternoon looking forward to the next day exploring Capitol Reef.
